The Wheatland Wizards is the competitive regional traveling basketball program of the Wheatland Athletic Association which is based in the Naperville / Aurora area.  Our club is committed to teaching the skills and fundamentals of basketball, developing character in young athletes and promoting a true love for the game.  We offer a year round basketball program that includes highly qualified trainers and coaches.  Click here to learn more about the Wizards program.

Wizard Results for CURRENT 7th grade boys for the 8th grade 2008/2009 season are posted.

TRYOUT RESULTS for all other grade levels are available.  Please see the Tryouts page for specific details.   

REGISTRATIONS and deposit are due now for ALL grade levels to reserve your roster invite!  If your number is posted, please go to registration page, download the commitment form, and follow the registration procedure.  THANKS!!     



Illinois U12 Wizards Champions at Super Regional!
The Lady Wizards took 1st Place at the Super Regional in Highland, IN (Apr. 5-6th) defeating Racine 61-23, Illinois Flash 40-27, Illinois Angels 35-17 and winning the championship game against the Illinois Flash 38-11.


Illinois U12 Lady Wizards Qualify For Nationals

The 7th grade Illinois Lady Wizards after going 53-6 during the regular season have qualified for the AAU Nationals. They qualified by winning the Noblesville Classic Super Regional in Noblesville, IN. This is the 2nd year in a row. They will represent Illinois at the Nationals from July 3-12th in Rochester, MN.  The Wizards, who were Illinois State Champs last year, will try and repeat again this year in May.


2007/2008 Season Results


Wizards 8th grade blue celebrate their win over the Naperville Rockets to win the North Central College March Madness Tournament, Mar. 8-9th.

The 5th grade blue Wheatland Wizards hosted an Inaugural Basketball Tournament on February 23rd.  The tournament had six competitive teams including Wheatland Wizards, Naperville Rockets, North side Warriors, Will County Wolf Pac, Aurora All-stars and Downers Grove Nomads.  Each team participated in pool play where the top two teams from each pool moved on to bracket play.  The Championship was an exciting event as the players were introduced and the National Anthem was sung prior to the game.  The Wizards prevailed as Champions.

SPRING 2008

Girls 7th - Blue qualified for the AAU Nationals in Rochester, MN July 3-12th after winning the Noblesville Classic Super Regional, IN.

2007/08 SEASON NEWS

Boys 8th - Blue won the North Central College March Madness, Mar. 8-9th, defeating the Naperville Rockets in the championship game.

Boys 5th - Blue won the North Central College March Madness, Mar. 8-9th. They are 60-2 for the season with 8 tournament wins.

Boys 8th - Blue won the Stormin to the Hoop Tourney in St. Charles, IL, Mar. 1-2nd. They defeated Geneva and St. Viator to reach the finals where they meet AAU Hooptown Hoops from Chicago, and won 49-44.

Boys 4th - Blue
won the DYTBL Conference with a record of 10-1.  They earned a bye for this weekends final Conference Tournament at Wheaton. They are 30-7 for the season.

Girls 7th - Blue Wizards won the Midwest Hoops Fest in Rockford, IL, Feb. 23-24th winning their 5th tournament of the season. The Wizards went 5-1 for the weekend defeating Dubuque, IA 25-16, IL Hoopla 53-51 in Double OT, Milton Stingers 48-25, Hoopla again 48-37 and revenging their only defeat by winning the championship game over Janesville, WI team 44-26.  The girls finished their season with a record of 53-6!

Boys 6th - Blue Wizards took 2nd place in the Bloomingdale Tournament, Feb. 16-17th.

Boys 5th - Blue Wizards took 1st place in the Naperville North Huskies Tournament, Feb. 16-17th.

Boys 7th - Blue Wizards defeated Downers Grove in the consolation championship of the Memorial Park Tournament (Jan. 4-6th).

Boys 5th - Gold North Wizards took 2nd Place at the La Grange Classic (Jan. 5-6th).  At the Redhawk Classic (Dec. 26-28th) they finished in the final four with wins over prominent AAU programs – Rising Stars Gold (Deerfield) and Lake Central, IN. The team coached by Rob Bussell has a record of 18 wins and 6 losses as of 1/10/08.

Girls 7th - Blue Wizards won the Red Hawk Classic Tournament (Dec. 27-28th) and the Rockford Holiday Classic One-Day Tournament (Dec. 30th).

Boys 5th - Blue Wizards won the Red Hawk Classic Tournament (Dec. 29-30th).  They defeated Downers Grove Wolfpack and Purple Cobras in pool play.  Then faced the Rockets Red, Wizards Gold North and Illinois Speed (Next Level Athletics) in bracket play. 

Boys 5th - Blue Wizards won the North Central College Holiday Hoops Tournament on Dec. 1-2.  They beat Riverside Brookfield, Wizards – Gold North and Western Springs Bull Dogs.  All three games were won by 20+ points. 

Keepataw Classic tournament held on Nov. 16-18th Wizards Results:
Boys 5th - Blue coached by Gary Bunce. Champions - they  beat PDAAK, Western Springs, Orland Park, Lemont and Wizards – Gold South.  
Boys 5th - Gold South coached by Rick Howat took 2nd place.
Boys 4th - Blue coached by Pete Dockery lost in pool play to the eventual winner of the Lemont tournament by a couple of points.
Boys 8th - Blue coached by Mike Coffman lost a heartbreaker in triple overtime to Orland Park Magic to fall short of qualifying for the championship round.

Girls 7th - Lady Wizards won the Lady Hoops Tournament at Joy of the Game in Deerfield, Nov. 17-18th.  The Wizards defeated Illinois Evolution and their rival Flash in an OT game 35-31.  They are coached by Jeffery Walker.

Boys 4th - Gold coached by Craig Helwig won the SCBO tournement in St. Charles, Nov 18th.

Boys 8th Blue team, coached by Mike Coffman, finished 2nd place at the Joy of the Game tourney on November 2-4 in Deerfield! Congrats!
